The opportunity of DNA sequencing by hybridization with oligonucleotide matrix (SHOM) with simultaneously use continuous stacking hybridization and gapped-matrices is considered. The analysis of reconstruction efficiency for various combinations matrices and l-oligonucleotides libraries were made. In most cases combine use of continuous stacking hybridization and gapped matrices permits to decrease the number of additional stacking hybridization twice without lost of efficiency.

Pyrite in recirculating stacking hybrid constructed wetland: Electron transfer for nitrate reduction and phosphorus immobilization.

J Environ Manage

December 2024

Department of Ecology, Engineering Research Center for Tropical and Subtropical Aquatic Ecological Engineering, Ministry of Education, Jinan University, Guangzhou, 510632, PR China. Electronic address:

Pyrite is considered as an effective and environmentally friendly substrate in constructed wetlands (CW) for wastewater treatment, but its application in recirculation stacking hybrid constructed wetlands (RSHCW) has been scarcely studied. This study uses varying amounts of pyrite as the substrate in RSHCW, leveraging the recirculation of wastewater to alter microenvironments such as dissolved oxygen (DO) and pH, to explore the potential mechanisms of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) removal in pyrite-based RSHCW. The results show that as the proportion of pyrite increases, the removal rate of total phosphorus (TP) in the effluent also increases (25%→58%), significantly enhancing the deposition of iron-bound phosphorus (Fe-P) on the substrate, thereby turning CW into a P reservoir.

For finely representation of complex reservoir units, higher computing overburden and lower spatial resolution are limited to traditional stochastic simulation. Therefore, based on Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), spatial distribution patterns of regional variables can be reproduced through high-order statistical fitting. However, parameters of GANs cannot be optimized under insufficient training samples.

The world is moving towards the utilization of hydrogen vehicle technology because its advantages are uniformity in power production, more efficiency, and high durability when compared to fossil fuels. So, in this work, the Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Stack (PEMFS) device is selected for producing the energy for the hydrogen vehicle. The merits of this fuel technology are the possibility of operating less source temperature, and more suitability for stationery and transportation applications.

Twisted Dipole Ion Guide (TDIG) for Flexible Ion Transfer in Atmospheric Pressure Ionization Mass Spectrometry.

Anal Chem

December 2024

Research Center of Analytical Instrumentation, School of Mechanical Engineering, Sichuan University, Chengdu 610065, People's Republic of China.

In ambient mass spectrometry, the performance in direct in situ analysis applications has been hindered by the lack of efficient ion-transferring technique between the atmosphere pressure ionization source and the mass analyzer. Building upon the hybrid concept of a stack ring ion guide and multipole ion guide, this study proposes the concept of a reconfigurable twisted dipole ion guide (TDIG) that enables flexible ion transfer between atmosphere and vacuum. Initially, theoretical and numerical studies were conducted to understand the basic ion confining principle of the twisted dipole ion guide, revealing its unique merits in long-distance flexible ion transmission.

Realization of Merged Topological Corner States in the Continuum in Acoustic Crystals.

Phys Rev Lett

December 2024

Institute of Acoustics, School of Physics Science and Engineering, Tongji University, Shanghai 200092, China.

Merging bound states in the continuum (BICs) has significant promise for wave manipulation since it can provide an ultrahigh Q factor when compared to the isolated BICs. However, the study of merging topological bound states in the continuum (TBICs) remains largely unexplored. In this Letter, we introduce a straightforward structure for crafting the merged higher order TBICs, i.
