This is the first report to evaluate the effects of combination chemotherapy on HIV-1 surrogate markers in an HIV-1-infected patient with an advanced epithelial ovarian cancer. Cisplatin combined with cyclophosphamide was well-tolerated, without significant changes in the HIV-1 p24 antigen, neopterin, beta 2-microglobulin, and CD4 values. The patient demonstrated a chemical and clinical response to therapy, without evidence of opportunistic infection or severe neutropenia. During the 6-month period of observation, treatment with cisplatin and cyclophosphamide did not significantly increase the risk of HIV-1 disease progression.

Alzheimer's Disease (AD) significantly aggravates human dignity and quality of life. While newly approved amyloid immunotherapy has been reported, effective AD drugs remain to be identified. Here, we propose a novel AI-driven drug-repurposing method, DeepDrug, to identify a lead combination of approved drugs to treat AD patients.

The cytotoxic mechanisms of thymidylate synthase inhibitors, such as the multitarget antifolate pemetrexed, are not yet fully understood. Emerging evidence indicates that combining pemetrexed with histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACi) may enhance therapeutic efficacy in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). To explore this further, A549 NSCLC cells were treated with various combinations of pemetrexed and the HDACi MS275 (Entinostat), and subsequently assessed for cell viability, cell cycle changes, and genotoxic markers.

To update the efficacy and safety of different drugs for the treatment of patients with hyperphosphatemia in chronic kidney disease, we conducted a network meta-analysis of 22 therapies for the treatment of uncontrolled hyperphosphatemia in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). All randomized controlled trials on hyperphosphatemia published from January 2013 to November 2023 were searched from CNKI, VIP database, Wanfang database, PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane databases. Meta-analysis was used to evaluate the serum phosphorus, calcium levels, total effective rate and adverse events of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Surgical resection and postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy have enhanced the outlook for breast cancer patients. However, tumor relapse and serious side effects of chemotherapy continue to impact patients' quality of life. Designing injectable composite hydrogel made of biodegradable polymers providing sustained release of antiangiogenic and chemotherapeutic agents might play a vital role in elimination of cancer cells.
