Real-world effectiveness and tolerability of switching to doravirine-based antiretroviral therapy in people with HIV: a nationwide, matched, prospective cohort study.

Lancet HIV

September 2024

Stichting HIV Monitoring, Amsterdam, Netherlands; Amsterdam UMC, Location University of Amsterdam, Department of Infectious Diseases, Amsterdam, Netherlands; Amsterdam Institute for Immunology & Infectious diseases, Infectious Diseases Program, Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Background: Currently, real-world data on doravirine are scarce. In a national prospective cohort, we assessed the effectiveness and tolerability of switching to doravirine-based antiretroviral therapy (ART) in people with HIV.

Methods: We did a nationwide, matched, prospective cohort study of people with HIV without previous virological failure and stable for at least 12 months on non-doravirine-containing triple or dual ART switching to doravirine before Sept 1, 2020 (exposed group).

Introduction: Osseointegration of hip implants, although a decade-long process, shows striking similarities with the four major phases of endochondral bone repair. In the current study we investigated the spatiotemporal involvement of bone morphogenic proteins (BMPs) and transforming growth factor betas (TGF-βs) throughout the process of bone repair leading to successfully osseointegrated hip implants.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-four patients that had undergone primary total hip arthroplasty (THA) due to one-sided osteoarthritis (OA) were investigated during a period of 18 years (Y) with repeated measurements of plasma biomarkers as well as clinical and radiological variables.

Condensin DC loads and spreads from recruitment sites to create loop-anchored TADs in .

Condensins are molecular motors that compact DNA via linear translocation. In , the X-chromosome harbors a specialized condensin that participates in dosage compensation (DC). Condensin DC is recruited to and spreads from a small number of ecruitment lements on the -chromosome () and is required for the formation of topologically associating domains (TADs).

Background: This study compares classical test theory and item response theory frameworks to determine reliable change. Reliable change followed by anchoring to the change in categorically distinct responses on a criterion measure is a useful method to detect meaningful change on a target measure.

Methods: Adult cancer patients were recruited from five cancer centers.

Structural maintenance of chromosomes (SMC) protein complexes structure genomes by extruding DNA loops, but the molecular mechanism that underlies their activity has remained unknown. We show that the active condensin complex entraps the bases of a DNA loop transiently in two separate chambers. Single-molecule imaging and cryo-electron microscopy suggest a putative power-stroke movement at the first chamber that feeds DNA into the SMC-kleisin ring upon adenosine triphosphate binding, whereas the second chamber holds on upstream of the same DNA double helix.
