YAG laser meloplasty and blepharoplasty.

Aesthetic Plast Surg

Atherton Plastic Surgery and Laser Center, CA 94027, USA.

Published: October 1995

Twenty-eight patients have undergone facelift and blepharoplasty in which the YAG laser scalpel was used. The laser is able to produce an incision with excellent hemostasis. The patients in this series demonstrated markedly diminished blood loss during surgery and reduced bruising, swelling, pain, and discomfort postoperatively. Contralateral procedures done with the laser on one side and conventional surgery on the other side demonstrated greater benefit on the laser side.

Assessment of Corrosion and Cavitation Resistance of Laser Remelted GX40CrNiSi25-20 Cast Stainless Steel.

Materials (Basel)

December 2024

Department of Materials and Fabrication Engineering, Politehnica University Timisoara, Bulevardul Mihai Viteazul nr.1, 300222 Timișoara, Romania.

This paper explores the enhancement of cavitation and corrosion resistance in cast stainless steel through laser beam surface remelting. The influence of laser treatment on material properties was assessed by analyzing the microstructure using optical microscopy, electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction. Cavitation erosion was evaluated in tap water using an ultrasonic vibration setup, following ASTM G32-2016 standards.

: This study aimed to evaluate the recurrence rates at three years for upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) cases managed conservatively, using Narrow Band Imaging (NBI)-assisted flexible ureteroscopy and Holmium laser vaporization. : The study group included 61 patients who were diagnosed with NBI-assisted visualization with superficial pyelo-calyceal urothelial tumor lesions, treated conservatively by the flexible ureteroscopic approach and Holmium laser vaporization, also assisted by NBI. This was compared with a control group with the same number of cases, which underwent the same procedure, but without NBI technology.

: Central and branch retinal artery occlusion (CRAO and BRAO) are critical causes of acute vision loss, predominantly affecting older adults with systemic vascular pathology. These occlusions typically result from embolic events, leading to partial or complete retinal ischemia. : This retrospective case series report details of our 10-year experience using the 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser for Transluminal Nd:YAG Embolysis (TYE) in order to lyse visible emboli within the retinal arteries.

Laser-induced photothermal therapy using gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) has emerged as a promising approach to cancer therapy. However, optimizing various laser parameters is critical for enhancing the photothermal conversion efficacy of plasmonic nanomaterials. In this regard, the present study investigates the photothermal effects of dodecanethiol-stabilized hydrophobic ultrasmall spherical AuNPs (TEM size 2.
