This case report presents a late preterm infant diagnosed with severe cerebellar hypoplasia and microcephaly secondary to congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV) infection. Initially suspected to have Dandy-Walker malformation, postnatal MRI revealed significant cerebellar hypoplasia, without other typical cCMV findings. The diagnosis was confirmed by the presence of CMV in serum and urine.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the leading cause of anovulatory infertility among women of reproductive age, yet the range of effective treatment options remains limited. Our previous study revealed that reduced levels of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) in ovarian granulosa cells (GCs) of women with PCOS resulted in the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and mitochondrial dysfunction. However, it is still uncertain whether increasing NAD levels in the ovaries could improve ovarian function in PCOS.

Hyperuricemia, caused by abnormal purine metabolism, is commonly treated with xanthine oxidase (XOD) inhibitors, uricosuric, and dietary adjustments. Recently, marine-derived bioactive peptides have gained attention as potential functional food ingredients due to their therapeutic potential. The fate of the pollutants in aquatic environment is closely related to colloids, and the carrier effect of colloids on pollutants not only affects their bioaccumulation, but may also affect their toxicity. In this study, the effects of natural colloid with different components on the biological toxicity of benzophenone-3 (BP3) to zebrafish larvae (Diano rerio) were studied. BP3 caused oxidative stress damage, thyroid system disorders and neurotoxicity in zebrafish larvae.
