Background: One of the major causes of morbidity and death in children is malaria, and HIV infection and other factors may make the situation worse. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of malaria parasitemia among HIV-infected children under 15 years in the Bonassama Health District, Douala, Cameroon, and investigate its association with CD4 cell counts, viral load, and haematological parameters.
Methods: The study was a cross-sectional study involving 287 HIV-infected children <15 years and convenient sampling was used to enrol participants.

Background: Child malnutrition is a major public health challenge, affecting millions of children worldwide, with alarming proportions of children under five in Benin. The complexity of managing this condition is increased by its potential association with opportunistic pathologies. An interesting approach arises from the use of medicinal plants, to address child malnutrition and its associated pathologies.

This work aimed to study the organization of medical-social services for the elderly internally displaced persons at the level of primary medico-sanitary aid (PMSA) in Ukraine, assessment of the main tasks and specifics of organization and provision of palliative and hospice care (PHC) under COVID-19 conditions. As a result of the sociological investigation, using the questionnaire methods and experts' evaluations, we have analyzed the socio-psychological characteristics of the elderly internally displaced persons, the specifics of their social adaptation, financing and medico-social servicing at the level PMSA, including structural modernization and optimization of organizational provision. The introduction of an affordable and economically viable system allows for the interaction of specialists from health care and social protection institutions, and optimizes compliance with the standards and principles of medical care.

In the Mount Cameroon area, maternal anemia remains a major public health concern. We hypothesized that nutrient inadequacy may account for the level of anemia in pregnancy. Thus, this study examined the relative effect of dietary diversity on maternal anemia in the study area.

We analyze the effectiveness of ultrasonography in diagnosing carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) and propose the use of sonographic index of median nerve (MN) in carpal tunnel (SIMNCT) in a diagnostic algorithm and in establishing a scale of severity.We studied a group of 344 patients with CTS symptoms, examining them by ultrasound. We measured in all patients, on the affected hand: the size of the cross-sectional area of the MN at carpal tunnel (CT) inlet and outlet, nerve morphology at passage through CT, the vertical thickness of the MN entering into the CT - G1, the lowest vertical thickness into the CT or leaving the CT - G2, the thickness of the MN in the transversal plane as entering in the CT - L.
