Evaluation of the relative efficacy of three screening instruments for depression and anxiety in a group of stroke patients was undertaken as part of the Perth community stroke study. Data are presented on the sensitivity and specificity of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAPS), the Geriatric Depression Scale and the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) (28-item version) in screening patients 4 months after stroke for depressive and anxiety disorders diagnosed according to DSM-III criteria. The GHQ-28 and GDS but not the HADS depression, were shown to be satisfactory screening instruments for depression, with the GHQ-28 having an overall superiority. The performance of all 3 scales for screening post-stroke anxiety disorders was less satisfactory. The HADS anxiety had the best level of sensitivity, but the specificity and positive predictive values were low and the misclassification rate high.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the feasibility and performance of three-dimensional ultrasound (3DUS) imaging in ophthalmology using commercially available ultrasound probes adapted to a slit lamp.
Significance: Despite ultrasound's long-standing application in eye care for visualizing ocular components, the evolution of 3DUS technology has remained inactive, with limited development and commercial availability. This study introduces a novel method that could potentially enhance ophthalmic diagnostics and treatment planning by providing comprehensive 3D views of ocular structures using existing ultrasound probes adapted to the conventional slit lamp.

Accurate quantitative assessments are crucial to understanding development of diseases and their effective treatments. Various validated perimetry and volumetry measurement methods for patients with lymphedema exist and each has its own advantages and limitations and choosing the right instrument is essential. PeriKit® (PK) is a new measurement device that requires validation.

Background: Pancreatic cancer (PAC) has a complex tumor immune microenvironment, and currently, there is a lack of accurate personalized treatment. Establishing a novel consensus machine learning driven signature (CMLS) that offers a unique predictive model and possible treatment targets for this condition was the goal of this study.
Methods: This study integrated multiple omics data of PAC patients, applied ten clustering techniques and ten machine learning approaches to construct molecular subtypes for PAC, and created a new CMLS.

Eosinophilia is a notable feature in various hematological malignancies, including specific types of leukemias and lymphomas that may occur in the head and neck. In hematologic malignancies, eosinophilia can be primary, driven by genetic abnormalities, or secondary, resulting from cytokine and chemokine production by the neoplastic cells or the tumor microenvironment. This review examines the association between eosinophilia and head and neck hematolymphoid malignancies including Classic Hodgkin lymphoma, T-cell lymphoblastic leukemia, mature T and NK-cell lymphomas, and Langerhans cell histiocytosis.

The overexpression of Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) protein is specifically related to tumor cell proliferation in breast cancers. Its presence in biological serum samples indicates presence or progression of cancer, becoming a promise biomarker. However, their detection needs a simple and high accuracy platform.
