Background: Treating diabetes in dialysis patients remains a challenge, with many hypoglycemic drugs requiring dose adjustments or avoidance in these patients.
Case Summary: This report describes an 83-year-old female patient with a 30-year history of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) who had struggled to control her blood sugar for more than a year. She had a history of high blood pressure for 30 years, had undergone continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis for more than two years, was 163 cm tall, weighed 77 kg, and had a body mass index of 28.

Understanding the significance of handgrip strength is essential for identifying frailty in heart failure patients. The aim of this study was to identify the association between handgrip strength and cardiorespiratory endurance while highlighting the importance of the musculoskeletal system in cardiac rehabilitation for patients with heart failure. An observational cross-sectional study was conducted at Harapan Kita Hospital, Jakarta, Indonesia, from April 2022 to April 2023, among patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) attributed to cardiomyopathy or coronary artery disease.

In the present analysis, we investigated the association between alcohol consumption and ambulatory blood pressure (BP) control in male patients after 8 weeks of antihypertensive therapy with two dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers. The study participants were hypertensive (clinic systolic/diastolic BP of 140-179/90-109 mmHg and 24-hour ambulatory systolic/diastolic BP ≥ 130/80 mmHg) patients enrolled in a randomized controlled trial and treated with amlodipine 5-10 mg or nifedipine gastrointestinal therapeutic system (GITS) 30-60 mg once daily. Alcohol consumption was classified as non-drinkers and drinkers.
