Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a debilitating neurodegenerative disorder that is difficult to predict and is typically diagnosed only after symptoms manifest. Recently, CD4 T cell-derived double-negative T (DNT) cells have shown strong immuno-regulatory properties in both in vitro and in vivo neuronal inflammation studies. However, the effectiveness of DNT cells in treating on AD are not yet fully understood.

This article examines the transformative potential of blockchain technology and its integration with artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical trials, focusing on their combined ability to enhance integrity, operational efficiency, and transparency in the data governance. Through an in-depth analysis of recent advancements, the article highlights how blockchain and AI address critical challenges, including patient data privacy, regulatory compliance, and security. The article also identifies key barriers to adoption in the mentioned integration, such as scalability limitations, association with existing healthcare systems, and high implementation costs.

The assessment of research performance is widely seen as a vital tool in upholding the highest standards of quality, with selection and competition believed to drive progress. Academic institutions need to take critical decisions on hiring and promotion, while facing external pressure by also being subject to research assessment. Here we present an outlook on research assessment for career progression with specific focus on promotion to full professorship, based on 314 policies from 190 academic institutions and 218 policies from 58 government agencies, covering 32 countries in the Global North and 89 countries in the Global South.
