Healthy endothelium is covered by a protective glycocalyx layer, which, when degraded, releases detectable products into the blood. Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) is a cardiovascular biomarker involved in glycocalyx preservation, linked to placentation and preeclampsia development.

Objective: This study analyzed the changes in blood glucose and lipid metabolism levels in children with central precocious puberty (CPP) and the correlation between CPP and obesity.
Methods: In total, 88 children with CPP aged 6-10 years who were admitted to our hospital between January 2023 and June 2024 (the CPP group), and 88 children without CPP in the same age group who received health check-ups (the non-CPP group) were retrospectively enrolled in this study. General data [gender, age, bone age, and body mass index (BMI)] were collected.

We compared exosomal miRNA profiles between exclusive e-cigarette users and non-users. We used plasma samples from 15 exclusive e-cigarette users and 15 non-users from the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) Wave 1 study (2013-2014) and sequenced miRNAs with Illumina NextSeq 500/550.

Background: Ageing is a complex process characterized by the gradual deterioration of physiological functions, often leading to a diminished quality of life. Dementia is among the prominent indicators of ageing characterized by cognitive impairment. Animal studies employing D-galactose have provided insights into the mechanisms underlying cognitive decline and neuronal degeneration, resembling features of human brain ageing while Vitamin K2, known for its diverse physiological functions, also have neuroprotective potential.
