The administration of hydrocortisone-acetate to adult Wistar rats induced emphasized biochemical modifications in the thymus, together with the weight decrease of the gland. Liver was less affected and adrenal's function was suppressed, as shown by the increase of the ascorbic acid content. The treatment did not induce a stress situation.
