Indications for the use of drains of the peritoneal and pelvic cavity following elective surgery for colorectal cancer provide a source of continuing controversy. Analysis of the experimental and clinical studies indicates that routine drainage in needless with standard elective surgery for colon cancer. Some risk factors justify the selective use of drains when there is an increased risk of postoperative morbidity. In contrast, surgery for rectal cancer is associated with high risk of wound site complications and usually requires drainage with or without the filling of a pelvic "dead space" with well-vascularized soft tissues.

National Institute of Public Health, University of Southern Denmark, Copenhagen, Denmark.
Purpose: Physical rehabilitation exercises (PRE) are commonly prescribed early after total hip arthroplasty (THA), but the fundamental effectiveness of PRE has been questioned. As little is known about stakeholder perceptions of PRE, the aim was to explore patients' and physical therapists' perceptions of using PRE in the early period after THA.
Methods: A qualitative interview study was conducted.

Purpose: The goal of the study described in this protocol is to build a multimodal artificial intelligence (AI) model to predict abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) shrinkage 1 year after endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR).
Methods: In this retrospective observational multicenter study, approximately 1000 patients will be enrolled from hospital records of 5 experienced vascular centers. Patients will be included if they underwent elective EVAR for infrarenal AAA with initial assisted technical success and had imaging available of the same modality preoperatively and at 1-year follow-up (CTA-CTA or US-US).
Purpose Of Review: The present study reviews contemporary literature focused on uterine transplantation and tissue substitutes for the purposes of transfeminine genital gender affirming surgery (GAS). Additional background is provided for both topics to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the modern applications.
Recent Findings: Uterine transplant remains an experimental procedure in cisgender patients who wish to avoid surrogacy.

Background: Postoperative headache is a medical condition that has a strong association with future recurrence and chronic headache, higher morbidity and mortality, extended hospital stays, poor quality of life and high financial burden. Despite, having these consequences, there are limited studies in the study area.
Objective: This study aimed to assess the incidence and associated factors of postoperative headache among adult elective surgical patients at the University of Gondar Comprehensive Specialized Hospital Northwest Ethiopia, April 9 to 20 June 2022.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic affected healthcare systems worldwide, disrupting elective surgeries including those for cancer treatment. This study examines the effects of the pandemic on outcomes of pancreatic cancer surgeries at a specialized high-volume surgery center.
Materials And Methods: This study compared surgical volume and outcomes of pancreas resections between the pre-pandemic (January 2019 to February 2020), early pandemic (March 2020 to January 2021), and late pandemic (February 2021 to December 2021) periods.
