Bone metastasis and steroids are known to activate the coagulation system and induce osteoporosis, pathological bone fractures, and bone pain. Heparanase is a protein known to enhance the hemostatic system and to promote angiogenesis, metastasis, and inflammation. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the effects of steroids and malignancy on the coagulation factors and osteoblast activity in the bone tissue.

, a long-lived herbaceous plant from the Crassulaceae group, contains the active compound salidroside, recognized as an adaptogen with significant therapeutic potential for bone metabolism. Salidroside promotes osteoblast proliferation and differentiation by activating critical signaling pathways, including bone morphogenetic protein-2 and adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase, essential for bone formation and growth. It enhances osteogenic activity by increasing alkaline phosphatase activity and mineralization markers, while upregulating key regulatory proteins including runt-related transcription factor 2 and osterix.

Glucocorticoids are standard of care for patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Although prolonged exposure is associated with multiple endocrine side effects, current guidelines related to monitoring and management of endocrinopathies are suboptimal. We aim to explore community perceptions of endocrine related complications in patients with DMD, assess current level of understanding, and desire for further education.

Cases of relatively safe dental implant treatment in patients with low-volume bisphosphonate (BP) have been gradually reported. Although bone augmentation is commonly used when the bone volume is insufficient for implant placement, the studies and case reports regarding the safety of bone augmentation in patients treated with BP remain insufficient. Herein, we report a case wherein bone augmentation was performed after BP treatment with bone healing realized according to imaging, and we review the literature regarding BP and bone augmentation.
