Efficient thermal generation from solar/electric energy in transparent films remains challenging due to the limited toolbox of high-performance thermal generation materials and methods for microstructure engineering. Here, we proposed a two-step strategy to introduce hierarchical wrinkles to the MXene composite films with high transparency, leading to upgraded photo/electrothermal conversion efficiency. Specifically, the thin film contains protic acid-treated MXene layers assembled with Ag nanowires (H-MXene/Ag NWs).

Left Atrial Appendage Closure- An Alternative to Continuous Anticoagulation for Atrial Fibrillation? Approximately 25% of all ischemic insults are caused by cardiac emboli in atrial fibrillation. Therefore, in patients with atrial fibrillation, oral anticoagulation is initiated or transesophageal echocardiography is performed before electroconversion to exclude blood clots in the heart. This shows that virtually all cardiac thrombi (>90%) are localized in the atrial ear.

Electrochemical converters (electrolyzers, fuel cells, and batteries) have gained prominence during the last decade for the unavoidable energy transition and the sustainable synthesis of platform chemicals. One of the key elements of these systems is the electrode material on which the electrochemical reactions occur, and therefore its design will impact their performance. This review focuses on the electrospinning method by examining a number of features of experimental conditions.

Probing Oxygen-to-Hydrogen Peroxide Electro-Conversion at Electrocatalysts Derived from Polyaniline.

Polymers (Basel)

Hydrogen peroxide (HO) is a key chemical for many industrial applications, yet it is primarily produced by the energy-intensive anthraquinone process. As part of the Power-to-X scenario of electrosynthesis, the controlled oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) can enable the decentralized and renewable production of HO. We have previously demonstrated that self-supported electrocatalytic materials derived from polyaniline by chemical oxidative polymerization have shown promising activity for the reduction of HO to H in alkaline media.

Electric conversion treatment of cobalt-containing wastewater.

Water Sci Technol

Long-term accumulation of cobalt-containing wastewater may also pollute groundwater and cause a large amount of loss of valuable metals. Therefore, the comprehensive utilization of cobalt-containing wastewater must be realized, especially as cobalt itself is a very important strategic resource. This paper proposes a membrane electroconversion method to separate cobalt ions from cobalt-containing wastewater and prepare cobalt hydroxide.
