In recent years, owing to significant technological developments and an increased number of investigators entering the field, there have been spectacular advances in our understanding of the basic anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system. Unfortunately, these advances in basic science are slow to impact the clinical management of patients. We have selected a few important advances in clinical neurotology that have impacted the diagnosis and treatment of patients with vestibular disorders. This material was originally presented at the "Mechanisms of Vestibular Function and Dysfunction" symposium of the 1994 Neural Control of Movement meeting in Waikoloa, Hawaii.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to use the advanced technique of Network Intervention Analysis (NIA) to investigate the trajectory of symptom change associated with the effects of self-control training on youth university students' chronic ego depletion aftereffects.

Methods: The nine nodes of chronic ego depletion aftereffects and integrated self-control training were taken as nodes in the network and analyzed using NIA. Networks were computed at the baseline, at the end of treatment, at 1-, 3-, 6-, 9- and 12-month follow up.

Background: To identify the relationship between BMI or lipid metabolism and diabetic neuropathy using a Mendelian randomization (MR) study.

Methods: Body constitution-related phenotypes, namely BMI (kg/m), total cholesterol (TC), and triglyceride (TG), were investigated in this study. Despite the disparate origins of these data, all were accessible through the IEU OPEN GWAS database ( https://gwas.

Background: Tumor microenvironment (TME) plays a crucial role in tumor growth and metastasis. Exploring biomarkers that are significantly associated with TME can help guide individualized treatment of patients.

Methods: We analyzed the expression and survival of P4HB in pan-cancer through the TCGA database, and verified the protein level of P4HB by the HPA database.

Department of Pathology, The First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou, 325000, Zhejiang, China.

Objective: Rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) of respiratory cytology specimens is a critical technique for accurate and timely diagnosis of lung cancer. However, in China, limited familiarity with the Diff-Quik staining method and a shortage of trained cytopathologists hamper utilization of ROSE. Therefore, developing an improved deep learning model to assist clinicians in promptly and accurately evaluating Diff-Quik stained cytology samples during ROSE has important clinical value.
