Background: Infections caused by extended-spectrum β-lactamase-producing Enterobacterales (ESBL-E) are increasing in the United States. Although many risk factor scoring tools exist, many are specific to bloodstream isolates and may not represent all patient populations. The purpose of this study was to create and validate an institution-specific scoring tool for select ESBL-E of non-urinary origin based on previously identified risk factors.

The emergence of carbapenem-resistant pathogenic bacteria is a growing global public health concern. Carbapenem-resistant uropathogenic strains of can cause uncomplicated or complicated urinary tract infections, leading to a high risk of treatment failure and the spread of resistance determinants. The objectives of this 24-month study were to identify the prognostic characteristics of patients who were infected with carbapenem-resistant () and to create a tool to estimate the probability of a infection before having the complete results of a patient's antibiogram.

Introduction: Burn patients are highly susceptible to bacterial infections, which significantly increase morbidity and mortality. Destruction of skin barriers following burns creates an ideal environment for tissue colonization by pathogenic microorganisms.
Objectives: The aim of our study is to establish the epidemiological profile of bacterial infections in burn patients hospitalized in the Burns and Plastic Surgery Department of the Mohamed V Military Teaching Hospital (HMIMV) in Rabat and to describe their sensitivity to antibiotics.
