Testes of prepubertal, pubertal and adult Wistar rats were stimulated with low-intensity pulsed ultrasound for 20 min a day, for 7 days. No significant changes were found in the spermatogenic activity as well as in plasma LH and FSH levels following ultrasound treatment. The testicular androgenic activity, however, was significantly increased in prepubertal treated animals, in addition to a significant increase in seminal vesicle growth and secretory activity. In spite of normal androgenic levels, pubertal treated rats presented also an increase in the seminal vesicle secretory activity, thus suggesting a direct action of ultrasound on the gland.

The present investigation examined the influence of age and pubertal transition on magnitude of muscle damage and inflammatory response following high intensity incremental treadmill running till volitional exhaustion in sixty-four sedentary prepubertal ( = 32) and postpubertal ( = 32) boys who were randomly recruited in the study. Muscle damage and inflammatory markers like creatine kinase (CK), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotranferase (AST), C-Reactive Protein (CRP) and Interleukin-6 (IL-6) were estimated before and after exercise. Serum CK, LDH, AST, ALT, CRP and IL-6 levels significantly increased after exercise in both the groups in comparison to respective pre-exercise values.

Background: Perinatal growth and nutrition have been shown to be determinants in the programming of different tissues, such as adipose tissue, predisposing individuals to metabolic alterations later in life. Previous studies have documented an increased risk of metabolic disturbances and low-grade inflammation in prepubertal children with a history of extrauterine growth restriction (EUGR). The aim of this study was to evaluate possible alterations resulting from impaired growth during early childhood and their impact on young adult health.

Background And Aims: To assess the relationship between body composition indicators and inflammatory biomarkers in children and adolescents of the GENOBOX study.
Methods And Results: Anthropometry data from 264 subjects from the subsample of Zaragoza (Spain) included: weight, height, waist circumference, body mass index and triponderal index. Body composition was determined by Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA), obtaining visceral adipose tissue, fat mass index and lean mass index.

Purpose: to compare the Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) plasma concentrations of pre-pubertal and pubertal daughters born to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) mothers to daughters born to control mothers and to investigate their alterations during pre-puberty and all stages of puberty.
Methods: We critically investigated and meta-analyzed observational studies, which compared the plasma concentrations of AMH in pre-pubertal and pubertal daughters of PCOS pregnancies. A search of the literature was completed till the end of June of 2024 in the PubMed, Scopus, and Medline for the eligible studies.

Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is a sleep-related breathing condition that involves the presence of episodic disruptions to the sleeping pattern due to partial or complete airway obstruction. There are a range of treatment options that exist to alleviate the symptoms of this condition including CPAP, mandibular advancement, and maxillary expansion techniques. This systematic review and meta-analysis of published articles aims to determine if rapid maxillary expansion ("RME") is an effective treatment option in the management of OSA, using quantitative parameters of AHI and SpO.
