Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), previously known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, is the most common cause of chronic liver disease in children. MASLD encompasses a spectrum of liver disease and can be severe, with 10% of affected children presenting with advanced fibrosis. While biopsy remains the most accurate method for diagnosing and staging the disease, MRI proton density fat fraction and magnetic resonance elastography are the most reliable non-invasive measures for assessing steatosis and fibrosis, respectively.

Background: Previous studies have established a link between depression and fatty liver disease, yet the relationship with the Hepatic Steatosis Index (HSI) has not been thoroughly investigated. This study aims to explore the potential association between HSI and depression.
Methods: We investigated the association between HSI and depression (PHQ-9 depression score ≥ 10) using a weighted multiple logistic regression model and stratified analysis.

The study evaluated the anti-hyperlipidemic effects of myrcenol and curzerene on a high fat diet induced hyperlipidemia rat model. Thirty male albino rats were fed on a high-fat diet for four months. The HFD-induced hyperperlipidemia rats were treated with rosuvastatin (10 mg/kg), curzerene (130 mg/kg) and myrcenol (100 mg/kg) for four weeks.

Background And Objective: To determine whether there is disproportionate reporting of hepatobiliary disorders in the United States (US) FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) for individuals prescribed ketamine or esketamine.
Design: We identified Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities (MedDRA) terms in the FAERS related to hepatobiliary disorders.
Main Measures: Formulations of ketamine and esketamine were evaluated for the proportionality of reporting for each hepatobiliary disorder parameter using the reporting odds ratio (ROR).
