The hawksbill turtle, Eretmochelys imbricata, has been at risk of extinction for more than 40 years and remains critically endangered. While nesting beach protection is important for hatchling production, identifying inter-nesting, migratory, and foraging habitats is crucial for mitigating threats to population recovery. We report the use of satellite telemetry to monitor movements of 15 hawksbill turtles in the Western Caribbean.

Small interfering RNA (siRNA) has garnered tremendous interest as a potential therapeutic tool because of its intriguing gene-silencing ability. Toward the success in the manufacture of siRNA therapeutics for the potential treatment of choroidal neovascularization (CNV), siRNA conjugated with dual functional units of membrane-penetrating heptafluoropropyl and age-related macular degeneration-targeting cyclic Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) peptide was attempted for transcellular transportation into the cell interiors. Of note, cyclic RGD allowed selective affinities toward the angiogenic endothelial cells in the pathological CNV.

Viral epidemics pose major threats to global health and economies. A hallmark of viral infection is the reshaping of host cell membranes and cytoskeletons to form organelle-like structures, known as viral factories, which support viral genome replication. Viral infection in many cases induces the cytoskeletal network to form cage-like structures around viral factories, including actin rings, microtubule cages, and intermediate filament cages.

Over the last few years, numerous hospitals in France have been subject to increasingly frequent and severe cyberattacks that have disrupted healthcare provision to varying degrees. To mitigate this threat, especially in light of the forthcoming 2024 Olympic Games, Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris in Paris has been developing contingency plans that have been tested in simulated exercises called CRYPTolocker EXercice since May 2021. The latest simulated ransomware cyberattack that involved more than 200 participants took place on July 5, 2023, and lasted for 24 hours.

Large-scale industrial forestry is a threat to biodiversity and imposes long-lasting changes to many forested biomes. Preserving forests as reserves is an important component of the strategy for safeguarding forest biodiversity. Yet, the selection of forests of high biodiversity value is usually based on proxies (i.
