We present the case of a 60-year-old man admitted to the hospital presenting with high FUO (fever of unknown origin), strong headache, face erythematous-desquamative cutaneous lesions, long history of abdominal pain, and diffuse myalgia. He was also previously treated with immunosuppressants and currently managed with corticosteroids for a seronegative rheumatic disease. Data regarding Penicillin allergy labels (PALs) from India and Sri Lanka are sparse. Emerging data suggests that the proportion of patients declaring an unverified PAL in secondary care in India and Sri Lanka (1%-4%) is lesser than that reported in High Income Countries (15%-20%). However, even this relatively small percentage translates into a large absolute number, as this part of the world accounts for approximately 25% of the global population.

Background And Aims: A recent study reported that Oropouche virus (OROV) infection may play a role in the etiology of Guillain-Barré syndrome. We aimed to identify the neurological performance, disease-modifying therapies, and clinical outcomes related to patients with Oropouche-associated Guillain-Barré syndrome admitted to the critical care unit.

Methods: This was an analysis of 210 patients diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome and suspicion of Oropouche viral infection admitted to the critical care units from June 2024 to September 2024 using the national administrative healthcare data.

Methods: The study involved a retrospective cross-sectional analysis of adults aged 18 and older who were seen at our institution between 2013 and 2018.

Encephalitis due to Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) is a rare condition that primarily affects children and immunosuppressed patients. Diagnosing EBV encephalitis can be challenging due to its nonspecific clinical presentation and the lack of confirmatory tests. We present the case of a 66-year-old woman with a history of kidney transplantation who was admitted due to progressive subacute mental deterioration, preceded by vertigo and without fever.
