Background: Laparoscopic hepatectomy is a proven safe and technically feasible approach for liver tumor resection, but laparoscopic anatomical SVIII resection (LASVIIIR) remains rarely reported due to poor accessibility, difficult exposure, and the deep-lying Glissonean pedicle. This study examined the safety, feasibility, and perioperative outcomes of LASVIIIR a middle hepatic fissure approach at our institution.
Aim: To investigate the safety, feasibility, and perioperative outcomes of LASVIIIR a middle hepatic fissure approach at our institution.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most frequent cancers and the main cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Ectopic HCC, an extremely rare type of HCC, exhibits a wide range of clinical signs and radiographic features, making preoperative identification challenging.
Case Summary: A 47-year-old man underwent routine abdominal color ultrasonography, which identified an asymptomatic tumor in the left upper abdomen.

Background: Careful surgical strategy is paramount in balancing the prevention of fascial dehiscence, incisional hernia (IH) and fear of additional mesh-related wound complications post-laparotomy. This study aims to review early outcomes of patients undergoing an emergency laparotomy with prophylactic TIGR® mesh, used to reduce early fascial dehiscence and potential subsequent IH.
Method: A retrospective, ethically approved review of 24 consecutive patients undergoing prophylactic TIGR® mesh placement during emergency laparotomies by a single surgeon between January 2017 and June 2021 at a University Hospital.
