It is required to have a more straightforward and easier way to check the quality of food to ensure the safety of the public heaths. The decomposition of meat protein results in ammonia and biogenic amines (BAs). Here, we have designed and synthesized three luminescent-based probe molecules, which originated from 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl) benzothiazole (HBT) derivatives and showed the excited state-induced proton transfer (ESIPT) phenomenon.

Chiral plasmonic nanomaterials with fascinating physical and chemical properties show emerging chirality-dependent applications in photonics, catalysis, and sensing. The capability to precisely manipulate the plasmonic chirality in a broad spectral range plays a crucial role in enabling the applications of chiral nanomaterials in diverse and complex scenarios; however, it remains a challenge yet to be addressed. Here we demonstrate a strategy to significantly enhance the tunability of circular dichroism (CD) spectra of chiral nanomaterials by constructing core-shell hybrid metal-semiconductor structures with tailored shells.

Metal aluminum ions and the antibiotic NOR have both benefited humanity and due to improper use, posed significant threats to the environment and human health. Although the correct and rational use of these substances is crucial, developing real-time, rapid, and highly sensitive detection of trace aluminum ions and NOR in the environment and organisms is more important for early diagnosis of potential related diseases. After several decades of development, fluorescence analysis has become a mainstream research method due to its ability to meet these requirements.

Nirmatrelvir/Ritonavir, acting as an effective agent against COVID-19, has achieved considerable results in clinical studies in terms of drug efficacy. However, there is little research about its medication safety. Based on the FDA adverse event reporting system (FAERS) database, this study aims to mine the adverse reaction signals of the latest major recommended drug Nirmatrelvir/Ritonavir for the antiviral treatment of COVID-19, so as to provide a basis for safe and rational drug use.

Despite recent advancements in organic phosphors, the synthesis of monodisperse afterglow microparticles (MPs) suitable for creating photonic crystals remains challenging. The SiO matrix is an attractive host material for activating the long-lived emissions of doped molecules due to several factors, including its cross-linked polymer-like structure, abundance of -OH groups, robustness, and presence of numerous emitter defects. However, the Stöber method struggles to produce monodisperse molecule-doped SiO MPs due to the complexity of the system.
