Herpes zoster (HZ) is a viral infection caused by the reactivation of endogenous and latent varicella-zoster virus that remains dormant in the cranial nerve or dorsal root ganglia. HZ occurs in a portion of the general population, with a higher incidence observed in high-risk individuals. Patients with impaired immunity, including human immunodeficiency virus infection, organ transplantation, old age, and cancer-related treatments such as chemotherapy (CT) and radiotherapy (RT) were found more prone to HZ infection.

The aim of this study was to analyze the association between circulating amino acids and central and peripheral body temperature in subjects with and without fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS). A total of 47 patients with FMS and 59 healthy subjects were included in the study. The concentration of amino acids was determined in serum samples using a fluorimeter coupled with a high-performance liquid chromatography system.

: This study is an open clinical trial that included 3 months of follow-up. : This study aimed to show the changes that occur in the viscoelastic properties of the PF measured by SEL after the six applications of a 448 kHz capacitive resistive monopolar radiofrequency (CRMR) in active, healthy subjects, immediately before the CRMR intervention (T0), during the two-week CRMR intervention program (T1), after the CRMR intervention program (T2), two weeks after the CRMR intervention program (T3), one month after the CRMR intervention program (T4), and three months after the CRMR intervention program (T5). : Our results showed that the effects of CRMR on the plantar fascia elasticity may last up to one month in a healthy population after a 3-week treatment program when compared to controls, specifically following the medial process of the calcaneal tuberosity (points 1 and 2).

Background: Centellicum, a standardized Centella Asiatica extract, has been used orally for fibrosis and scar prevention. The main aim of this 2-month registry pilot study was the reduction of visible, significant scars and keloids after suturing traumatic wounds with irregular edges (lacerations), using Centellicum.
Methods: The effects of oral Centellicum (450 mg/day; 2 capsules) and a standard management (SM) on wound healing were compared with the effects of a control group that used only the standard management.

Significance: This study examines a potential stress test of repeated blink refrainment and its effects on the interblink period and the rate of evaporative ocular surface cooling. Such a test could aid in the study of computer vision syndrome, in which screen users unconsciously delay blinking, leading to onset of symptoms.
Purpose: This study aimed to examine the relationship between the length of the maximum achievable interblink time and the rate of ocular surface cooling under stress test conditions of repeated refrainment from blinking for as long as possible.
