To develop and evaluate a predictive model for intensive care unit (ICU) admission among patients with acute sedative-hypnotic overdose. We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients admitted to the emergency department of West China Hospital, Sichuan University, between October 11, 2009, and December 31, 2023. Patients were divided into ICU and non-ICU groups based on admission criteria including the need for blood purification therapy, organ support therapy (ventilatory support, vasoactive drugs, renal replacement therapy, artificial liver), or post-cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

They also tend to experience malnutrition, which can affect the course of anemia. Introduction: Since the dawn of the new millennium, Candida species have been increasingly implicated as a cause of both healthcare-associated as well as opportunistic yeast infections, due to the widespread use of indwelling medical devices, total parenteral nutrition, systemic corticosteroids, cytotoxic chemotherapy, and broad-spectrum antibiotics. Candida tropicalis is a pathogenic Candida species associated with considerable morbidity, mortality, and drug resistance issues on a global scale.
Methodology: We report a case of a 43-year-old man who was admitted to our hospital for further management of severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia.

Activated carbon is extensively utilized in blood purification applications. However, its performance has been significantly limited by their poor blood compatibility. Melanocortin therapeutics, exemplified by adrenocorticotropic hormone, have a proven steroidogenic-independent anti-proteinuric and glomerular protective effect. The biological functions of melanocortins are mediated by melanocortin receptors (MCR), including MC1R, which recent studies have shown to protect against glomerular disease. However, the role of other MCRs like MC5R is unknown.
