The results of treatment of 175 children with a septicopyemic form of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis were analyzed. A method of surgical treatment using an original device for osteopuncture and intraosseous infusions was introduced in the clinic with regard to the results of studying morphological features of changes in the contents of the intramedullary canal. This surgical strategy allowed shortening the period of hospital treatment, reduction of the number of complications and avoidance of lethal outcomes of children with the septicopyemic form of the disease.

Objective: to analyze the x-ray signs of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in children with the septicopyemic form of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis (AHO) for the first time, by using the authors' material.
Methods: X-ray study of respiratory organs was conducted in 221 children with AHO.
Subjects And Basic Results: ARDS had a rather characteristic x-ray pattern that permitted a differential diagnosis of this condition and another abnormality, that with septic pneumonia in particular.
Dimexide and HBO-therapy were included in the curative complex for 54 patients with septicopyemic forms of acute hematogenic osteomyelitis, The authors' recommendations proved to be effective which was demonstrated by better general state of the children, less edema of tissues, stimulation of reparative processes of the osseous tissue in the injury zone, normalization of general and biochemical indices of blood.
