Experimental studies with a balloon phantom, and clinical studies were performed to evaluate first-pass radionuclide angiocardiography using a gamma camera in the assessment of regional wall motion. The phantom studies showed that choice of isocount contour was not critical in edge detection. Adequate count densities could be achieved, but only at the expense of temporal resolution. The clinical studies disclosed a good correlation with radiography in normal subjects and those with diffuse ventricular disease but a poor correlation in subjects with localised abnormalities of wall motion.

A preliminary study was conducted using electronic portal imaging device (EPID) based dose verification in pre-treatment and in vivo dose reconstruction modes for breast cancer intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) technique with known repositioning set-up errors. For 43 IMRT plans, the set-up errors were determined from 43 sets of EPID images and 258 sets of cone beam computed tomography images. In-house developed Edose software was used to reconstruct the dose distribution using the pre-treatment and on-treatment (in vivo) EPID acquired fluence maps.

Background: Understanding and assessing static and dynamic balance and their relationship with the function of the medial longitudinal arch of the foot is crucial for people with pronated feet.
Purpose: This study aimed to assess the medial longitudinal arch height and postural balance in physically active females with pronated feet.
Methods: A case-control study.

Lightweight and robust self-powered wearable devices are of great importance in rehabilitation and medical assistance, but this places greater demands on the development of functional materials. In particular, a balance between reducing the weight of materials and enhancing their mechanical performance is urgently needed. Here, this study reports a design strategy based on a cross-scale strengthening mechanism, which endows triboelectric materials with mechanically robust properties, and can withstand more than 16,600 times its weight without any deformation.

Unlabelled: Introduction y objectives: Tako-tsubo syndrome (TTS) is a cardiac condition that mimics acute coronary syndrome, characterized by transient left ventricular dysfunction in the absence of culprit coronary artery stenosis. Although its etiology remains unknown, reversible microvascular dysfunction secondary to an adrenergic surge is thought to play a role. Treatment is empirical, although most patients receive beta-blockers (BB) in clinical practice.
