Transthoracic aspiration needle biopsy is the principal technic of obtaining the material for morphological verification of the diagnosis in apical lung cancer with the Pancoast syndrome in particular. Since transthoracic aspiration biopsy is feasible and readily available, it may be used successfully not only clinically but also in outpatient conditions.
