The investigation of the individual anatomical variability of organs of the abdominal cavity in newborns has shown that the variant of fixation of the duodenum, structure of the small intestine mesenterium, pattern of the organization of the peritoneal lining as well as the disposition and fixation of the large intestine are of major practical importance in urgent operations for congenital ileus. Variants of the shape and disposition of the large intestine in neonatals should be taken into consideration in roentgenological examinations and in mobilization of the large intestine.
