Contamination of water resources by artificial coloring agents and the increasing incidence of bacterial illnesses are two significant environmental and public health issues that are getting worse day by day. Traditional treatment techniques frequently fail to address these problems adequately in a sustainable and environmental friendly way. In response, our study presents a novel photocatalyst that demonstrates superior photodegradation capability and antibacterial qualities in catering the above issues.

In recent years, the fabrication of materials with large nonlinear optical coefficients and the investigation of methods to enhance nonlinear optical performance have been in the spotlight. Herein, the bismuth telluride (BiTe) thin films were prepared by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering and annealed in vacuum at various temperatures. The structural and optical properties were characterized and analyzed using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, spectroscopic ellipsometry, and UV/VIS/NIR spectrophotometry.

The introduction of heterovalent metal ion doping in the lead (Pb) halide perovskites presents a novel opportunity to manipulate the electronic and ionic properties by introducing dopant charges and increasing the carrier concentration in single crystals. While previous studies have reported on the use of bismuth (Bi) doping in methylammonium lead tribromide (MAPbBr) to adjust the optical properties, the comprehensive impact of Bi doping on the structural and electronic properties of MAPbBr single crystals remains unexplored. This research, therefore, delves into the anomalous behavior of the structural, optical, and electrical properties of pristine and doped MAPbBr single crystals through a combination of experimental and computational studies.

Unique thermoelectric properties of low-cost, widely available conducting polymers and multi-layered graphite structures have motivated the development of flexible thermoelectric generators using screen printing for low-temperature applications. Composites of polyaniline and graphite in different ratios with one weight percentage of bismuth telluride were prepared to fabricate flexible thermoelectric generators. The performance of the devices showed that the addition of graphite to polyaniline reduced the band gap energy from 2.
