Background: In high-burden settings, most tuberculosis (TB) transmission likely occurs outside the home. Our qualitative study in Zambia explored the acceptability and preferences for designing TB active case finding (ACF) strategies to reach non-household contacts of people with TB.

Methods: We conducted 56 in-depth interviews with persons with TB ( = 12), TB healthcare workers (HCWs) ( = 10), TB lay HCWs ( = 10), and leaders/owners ( = 12) and attendees ( = 12) of community venue types identified as potential TB transmission locations.

Objective: Crowd crush disasters result in psychological risks such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This descriptive research study identified the mental health status of Koreans after the Itaewon crowd crush disaster and explored related factors.

Methods: Data were collected May 2-9, 2023 using an online survey.

Inverting Methanol Dehydrogenation Selectivity by Crowding Atomic Ni Species over α-MoC Catalysts.

Metal carbides with earth-abundant elements are widely regarded as promising alternatives to noble metal catalysts. Although comparable catalytic performances have been observed for metal carbides in several types of reactions, precise control of reaction pathways on them remains a formidable challenge, partially due to strong adsorption of reactants or intermediates. In this study, we show that bimolecular dehydrogenation of methanol to methyl formate and H is kinetically favored on bare α-MoC catalysts, while monomolecular dehydrogenation to CO and H becomes the dominant pathway when α-MoC is decorated with crowding atomic Ni species.

Objective: To analyze the remnant cholesterol level and its influencing factors among Chinese residents aged 20 years old and older.

Methods: Data were collected from the Chinese Nutrition and Health Surveillance(2015-2017). A stratified, multi-stage, random sampling method was used.

Membraneless organelles, often referred to as condensates or coacervates, are liquid-liquid phase-separated systems formed between noncoding RNAs and intrinsically disordered proteins. While the importance of different amino acid residues in short peptide-based condensates has been investigated, the role of the individual nucleobases or the type of heterocyclic structures, the purine vs pyrimidine nucleobases, is less researched. The cell's crowded environment has been mimicked to demonstrate its ability to induce the formation of condensates, but more research in this area is required, especially with respect to RNA-facilitated phase separation and the properties of the crowding agent, poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG).
