It was established in experiments on 14 dogs that the acute character of ischemic damage to the myocardium and the size of the zone of ischemia in occlusion of the coronary artery diminish against the background of reduced venous return to the heart. The reduction in the ischemic area occurs for the most part because of a decrease of the border-line and neutral zones.
