The effect of hypothalamic lesion on the thrombocytes of the lizard, Uromastix hardwickii.

This study deals with the sequence of changes in platelet levels following a hypothalamic lesion. Observations indicate that the drop of cellularity on day I is followed by an abortive rise from day 2 to day 4. This suggests that the life span of the lacertilian platelet most probably appears to be as 3 days. Significant losses in the absence of haemorrhage reflect thrombocytic utilizations.
