Symptomatic chronic subdural hematoma (cSDH) is amongst the most frequent neurological diseases with an upward trend due to an aging society and development in the field of anticoagulation therapies. Lately, subgaleal drainages and middle meningeal artery (MMA) embolization have been introduced to the standard armamentarium as treatment options for cSDH patients. Vascular anomalies, such as internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion with spontaneous extra-intracranial anastomoses, usually lead to forfeiting embolization treatment from patients.

Objective: To create a reusable and inexpensive training model with technological tools that simulates cerebral bypass surgery and a sensor system that provides tactile feedback to the surgeon. Furthermore, we aimed to evaluate the anastomotic stability and contribution to the surgeon's learning curve.
Methods: We created a superficial temporal artery-middle cerebral artery bypass simulation model using chicken and turkey brachial arteries.

Ischemic stroke can arise from the sudden occlusion of a brain-feeding artery by a clot (embolic), or local thrombosis. Hemodynamic stroke occurs when blood flow does not sufficiently meet the metabolic demand of a brain region at a certain time. This discrepancy between demand and supply can occur with cerebropetal arterial occlusion or high-grade stenosis but also arises with systemic conditions reducing blood pressure.

Moyamoya angiopathy is a chronic progressive cerebrovascular disease characterized by stenosis and occlusion of the distal segments of the internal carotid arteries and/or proximal segments of the middle and anterior cerebral arteries, with a gradual compensatory restructuring of the cerebral circulation to the system of the external carotid arteries. Today, the main treatment method for Moyamoya angiopathy is surgical revascularization of the brain. A search and analysis of publications on the treatment of adult patients with Moyamoya angiopathy was carried out in the PubMed and Medscape databases over the past 10 years.

A 58-year-old patient presented with a severe neurological deficit due to a stroke caused by an occlusion of the left internal carotid artery siphon. Standard treatment failed and neurosurgical consult was delayed. Because of a favorable perfusion imaging finding, microsurgical revascularization via an extra-intracranial bypass (left superficial temporal artery - left middle cerebral artery) was performed 36 hours after the onset of the symptoms.
