In a review of the generalized results of foreign and domestic studies on the development mechanism and pathogenesis of vascular calcification. The etiopathogenetic, pathophysiological and histomorphological features of mediacalcinosis, which reveal changes in the vascular bed in patients with DM, are considered. The role of risk factors for diseases, such as increased glycemia, changes in insulin levels, impaired lipid metabolism, obesity, arterial hypertension, CKD and aging, is indicated.

Purpose: Our research aimed at characterizing the range of signs and symptoms observed in scleroderma patients at a tertiary care hospital and investigating potential correlations between pulmonary and cutaneous involvement.
Materials And Methods: We obtained informed consent from scleroderma patients for conducting a comprehensive clinical assessment, including detailed medical histories and physical examinations. Standard diagnostic investigations like complete blood counts, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, renal function, liver function, electrocardiograms (ECG), high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scans, and pulmonary function tests were performed.

Purpose To evaluate the accuracy of detection based on level of interpreter experience when reporting coronary artery calcium (CAC) on dual-energy (DE) posteroanterior (PA) and lateral chest radiographs and demonstrate the accuracy of specific imaging clues. Materials and Methods Retrospective review of 45-70-year-old patients who underwent DE PA and lateral chest radiography between March 1, 2021, and June 30, 2021, and also underwent noncontrast chest CT scan within 3 years. Following instruction of DE principles and the appearance of CAC, seven readers interpreted the DE chest radiographs to state if CAC was possibly present, definitely present, or not present; estimate ordinal CAC score; and report imaging clues present.

Left ventricular pseudoaneurysm (LVP), a rare but life-threatening complication following acute myocardial infarction (AMI), has an incidence of approximately 0.5% and a high mortality rate due to its significant risk of rupture. Early detection and timely surgical intervention are crucial.

Background: Severe calcification is the morphology most strongly associated with stent underexpansion.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to revise an optical coherence tomography (OCT)-derived calcium score to predict stent underexpansion in severely calcified lesions (angle >270°) using a point-based system.
Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted in which 250 de novo lesions undergoing OCT-guided stenting, with angiographically visible calcium and optical coherence tomographic maximum superficial calcium angle >270°, not subjected to atherectomy or specialty balloon treatment before stent implantation, were randomly divided into derivation (n = 167) and validation (n = 83) cohorts.
