Biplanar angiography through Swan-Ganz catheters. | LitMetric

Twenty-eight patients had biplanar angiography performed through wedged Swan-Ganz Catheters. In only five cases were the catheter tips symmetrically placed within the vessels in both AP and lateral views. The value of performing angiography immediately after placement of a Swan-Ganz catheter is discussed.

Preliminary application of three-dimensional venography and fusion navigation technique in May-Thurner syndrome.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to report a technique for intraprocedural guidance of endovascular iliac vein stenting procedures using three-dimensional (3D) venography images as an overlay on live biplanar fluoroscopy.

Methods: Using 3D venography and a fusion navigation technique, percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and stent placement were performed to evaluate the feasibility of using 3D venography images and the fusion navigation technique to treat MTS compared with traditional digital subtraction angiography. The general epidemiologic data (ie, age, gender), clinical manifestations (ie, major symptoms, affected extremity, CEAP [clinical, etiology, anatomy, pathophysiology] classification, comorbidity, stenosis rate), intraoperative findings (ie, stent type, stent count, stent to inferior vena cava distance, procedure time, radiation dose, contrast agent dosage), and postoperative recovery were obtained and analyzed.

Background: Automatic identification of proper image frames at the end-diastolic (ED) and end-systolic (ES) frames during the review of invasive coronary angiograms (ICA) is important to assess blood flow during a cardiac cycle, reconstruct the 3D arterial anatomy from bi-planar views, and generate the complementary fusion map with myocardial images. The current identification method primarily relies on visual interpretation, making it not only time-consuming but also less reproducible.

Objecitve: In this paper, we propose a new method to automatically identify angiographic image frames associated with the ED and ES cardiac phases.

Background: Non-invasive alternatives to digital subtraction angiography (DSA) for follow-up of patients with coiled aneurysms are sought.

Purpose: To compare a novel method of dual-energy computed tomography angiography (DE-CTA) for postoperative assessment of coiled brain aneurysms to detect aneurysm recanalization and patency of adjacent blood vessels, with DSA.

Material And Methods: Patients who underwent endovascular cerebral aneurysm coiling were prospectively evaluated postoperatively by both DE-CTA and conventional DSA.

Objective: Combined surgical and endovascular treatment for vascular disorders has become prevalent in recent years. However, reports on one-session hybrid surgery for arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are relatively rare. The safety and efficiency of combined treatment for brain AVMs were analyzed in biplanar hybrid operating room (OR) at one stage.

Background And Purpose: Head positioning is an important aspect for surgical planning in any cranial procedure. However, in neurointerventional cases, this is an afterthought due to advances in biplane imaging. We aim to present that the concept of head positioning may be applied to neurointerventional procedures to obtain optimal working projections to aide in the treatment of neurovascular pathology.
