On the basis of original and literary data more precise descriptions of species, their distribution on hosts, diagnoses of genera, family and superfamily are given. The paper describes biological peculiarities of nematodes of this family and gives some instructions concerning the study of larval and mature skrjabillanids.

Carbohydrate-active enzymes (CAZymes) involved in the degradation of plant cell walls and/or the assimilation of plant carbohydrates for energy uptake are widely distributed in microorganisms. In contrast, they are less frequent in animals, although there are exceptions, including examples of CAZymes acquired by horizontal gene transfer (HGT) from bacteria or fungi in several of phytophagous arthropods and plant-parasitic nematodes. Although the whitefly Bemisia tabaci is a major agricultural pest, knowledge of HGT-acquired CAZymes in this phloem-feeding insect of the Hemiptera order (subfamily Aleyrodinae) is still lacking.

Samples from 1,254 MacQueen's bustards (Chlamydotis macqueenii) were sent for parasitological examination to the department of parasitology of the Central Veterinary Research Laboratory between 2003 and 2022. The birds originated from sanctuaries where confiscated birds were kept but also from from zoos and private collections or were bred in captivity and released to conservation areas where they got injured or died for various reasons. The material consisted of mainly of intestines and faecal samples as well as heads, stomachs, muscles samples and cysts, isolated helminths, ecto-parasites and fly larvae.

Dirofilariasis is a globally significant emerging-zoonotic-disease caused by nematode parasites belonging to the genus Dirofilaria (Rhabditida: Onchocercidae) and is transmitted by mosquitoes (Diptera: Culicidae) of the Culicidae family. A recent study on molecular prevalence of Dirofilaria sp. "hongkongensis" To, 2012 (nomen nudum) among the dog population in Kerala indicated a high infection rate.

Genome assembly variation and its implications for gene discovery in nematodes.

Genome assemblers are a critical component of genome science, but the choice of assembly software and protocols can be daunting. Here, we investigate genome assembly variation and its implications for gene discovery across three nematode species-Caenorhabditis bovis, Haemonchus contortus, and Heligmosomoides bakeri-highlighting the critical interplay between assembly choice and downstream genomic analysis. Selecting commonly used genome assemblers, we generated multiple assemblies for each species, analyzing their structure, completeness, and effect on gene family analysis.

Prostaglandin E2 (PGE-2) is synthesised by cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and microsomal prostaglandin E synthase 1 (mPGES-1). PGE-2 exhibits pro-inflammatory properties in inflammatory conditions. However, there remains limited understanding of the COX-2/mPGES-1/PGE-2 pathway in Angiostrongylus cantonensis-induced meningoencephalitis.
