Green synthesis of stable metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with permanent and highly ordered porosity at room temperature without needing toxic and harmful solvents and long-term high-temperature reactions is crucial for sustainable production. Herein, a rapid and environmentally friendly synthesis strategy is reported to synthesize the complex topological bismuth-based-MOFs (Bi-MOFs), [Bi(CHO)(HO)] (denoted CAU-17), in water under ambient conditions by surfactant-mediated sonochemical approach, which could also be applicable to other MOFs. This strategy explores using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) amphiphilic molecules as structure-inducing agents to control the removal of non-coordinated water (dehydration) and enhance the degree of deprotonation of the ligands, thereby regulating the coordination and crystallization in aqueous solutions.

First-principle calculations were systematically carried out to explore the structural and electronic properties of the non-covalent interaction of procainamide (PA) anti-arrhythmias drug molecules on silver-loaded and gold-loaded silica nanostructures. Computed adsorption energies presented a higher affinity of PA towards the Ag-SiO as compared with Au-SiO surfaces. The non-covalent interaction analysis revealed a weak van der Waals type of forces and hydrogen bonding, associated with a noticeable repulsive steric interaction.

State Key Laboratory of Marine Resource Utilization in South China Sea, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Hainan University, Haikou, 570228, China.

Controlling the crystal size and surface chemistry of MOF materials, and understanding their multifunctional effect are of great significance for the biomedical applications of MOF systems. Herein, we designed and synthesized a new anionic MOF, ZJU-64-NSN, which features 1D channels decorated with highly polarized thiadiazole groups, and its crystal size could be systematically tuned from 200 μm to 300 nm through a green and simple approach. As a result, the optimal nanosized ZJU-64-NSN is found to enable an ultrafast loading of cationic drug procainamide (PA) (21.

To describe how clinical pharmacokinetics is being delivered across curricula in pharmacy programs, including the curricular position of clinical pharmacokinetic topics, topics currently taught, and instructional methods used in delivering the course content. A survey was distributed to one representative faculty member from each pharmacy college who was most able to answer questions about their institution's delivery of clinical pharmacokinetic material. Responses were collected from 82 out of the 108 pharmacy colleges who participated in the study.

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the influence of perceived authority on pediatric resuscitation teams' response to an incorrect order given by a medical superior.

Methods: As part of a larger multicenter prospective interventional study, interprofessional pediatric resuscitation teams (n = 48) participated in a video-recorded simulated resuscitation scenario with an infant in unstable, refractory supraventricular tachycardia. A confederate actor playing a senior physician entered the scenario partway through and ordered the incorrect dose and delivery method of the antiarrhythmic, procainamide.
