The 13C chemical shifts for all the carbon atoms is spironolactone have been assigned. Assignments for nine additional steroids which include the C-7 beta isomer of spironolactone, its C-7 thiol hydrolysis product, the 7 alpha-thioacetate derivative of testosterone and its thiol hydrolysis product are also reported.

Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) are a promising drug modality substantially expanding in both the discovery space and clinical development. Assessing the biotransformation of ADCs and is important in understanding their stability and pharmacokinetic properties. We previously reported biotransformation pathways for the anti-B7H4 topoisomerase I inhibitor ADC, AZD8205, puxitatug samrotecan, that underpin its structural stability using an intact protein liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) approach.

Catechol-functionalized proteins in mussel holdfasts are essential for underwater adhesion and cohesion and have inspired countless synthetic polymeric materials and devices. However, as catechols are prone to oxidation, long-term performance and stability of these inventions awaits effective antioxidation strategies. In mussels, catechol-mediated interactions are stabilized by 'built-in' homeostatic redox reservoirs that restore catechols oxidized to quinones.

Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and AChE inhibitors play critical roles in the early diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Herein, a fluorescence/colorimetry/smartphone triple-mode sensing platform was constructed for both AChE activity monitoring and AChE inhibitor screening by exploring a Cu (I) compound, CuI (SR) (R = CHCHNH), as a fluorescent probe. In comparison of most other fluorescent probes, CuI (SR) presented exceptional stability against pH, temperature, UV irradiation, redox agents, and metal ions, as well as good recyclability due to its unique chemical structure.

The development of polymers from renewable resources is a promising approach to reduce reliance on petrochemicals. In addition, depolymerization is attracting significant attention for the breakdown of polymers at their end-of-life or to achieve specific stimuli-responsive functions. However, the design of polymers incorporating both of these features remains a challenge.
