Background: This study synthesises current literature concerning the barriers to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) faced by people with intellectual disability and/or complex support needs who are involved with the criminal justice system, or at risk of (re)involvement.
Method: Through targeted searches of key databases, 41 publications were identified from the scholarly and grey literature.
Results: Collected literature raises three main barriers to the NDIS.

Background: The continued healthcare crisis in the United States (US) is worrisome, especially as workforce shortages, particularly for nurses, are highlighted, often in some of the highest need areas. As the need for healthcare services grows, especially for services that nurses can deliver, the inability to meet those needs exacerbates existing disparities in access to care and can jeopardize the quality and timeliness of healthcare delivery in underserved communities. Prior investigations have used varying definitions to describe underserved, under-resourced, rural, or health professional shortage areas to examine the relationship between these areas and workforce shortages.

This paper delineates the development of the Caribbean Research for Action Agenda which aims to empower Caribbean Small Island Developing States to reduce their vulnerabilities to the effects of climate change on health. The Caribbean Research for Action Agenda emerged from collaboration between nongovernmental organizations, academic institutions, and multilateral agencies that organized a conference on climate change and health in the Caribbean. This Agenda was formulated by prioritizing research areas, synthesizing evidence from conference presentations and scientific literature, and holding consultations with stakeholders and experts.
