Purpose: Acquired rectovaginal fistulae (RVF) are a complication of paediatric HIV infection. We report our experience with the surgical management of this condition.

Background: This detailed genomic study characterised multi-drug resistant-Gram negative bacilli (MDR-GNB) carriage in neonates < 2 kg and paired mothers at a low-resource African hospital.
Methods: This cross-sectional cohort study was conducted at the neonatal referral unit in The Gambia with weekly neonatal skin and peri-anal sampling and paired maternal recto-vaginal swabs. Prospective bacteriological culture used MacConkey agar with species identification by API20E and API20NE.

Purpose: To provide a high-fidelity, animal tissue-based model for the advanced surgical simulation of a Posterior Sagittal Anorectoplasty (PSARP) for rectovestibular fistula in anorectal malformation (ARM).
Materials And Methods: A chicken cadaver was used to assess the feasibility of simulating a PSARP for rectovestibular fistula in ARM. No modification was required to implement the surgical simulation.

Background: Gracilis muscle interposition (GMI) has been associated with favorable outcomes in treating complex perianal fistulas. Outcomes of GMI may vary according to the fistula etiology, particularly between rectovaginal fistulas in women and rectourethral fistulas (RUF) in men. The aim of this study was to assess the outcome of GMI to treat RUF acquired after prostate cancer treatment.
