Hyperthermia has emerged as a popular treatment option due to its high efficacy and seamless integration with other therapeutic approaches. To enhance treatment outcomes, hydrogels loaded with photothermal agents and activated by near-infrared (NIR) light for localized tumor therapy have attracted considerable attention. This approach minimizes drug dosage and mitigates the adverse effects of systemic drug delivery on healthy tissues.

In this present work, we describe the syntheses of a new series of 32 1H-indole-based-meldrum linked 1H-1,2,3-triazole derivatives (2-13, 15a-15f, 16a-16f, 17a-17f and 19a, 19b, 20a), which constitute a new class of 1H-1,2,3-triazoles. Compounds 15a-15f, 16a-16f, 17a-17f have been prepared by employing "click" reactions between substituted 1H-indole-based meldrum alkynes (11, 12 and 13) and substituted aromatic azides (14a-14f) in the presence of copper iodide (CuI) and Hünig's base. Then, the synthesis of compounds 19, 20 through decomposition of meldrum moiety.

Background: Depression and cognitive dysfunction are prevalent in the elderly population and have a serious impact on patients' quality of life and social functioning. Nutritional factors play a key role in the prevention and management of these disorders, particularly folate and vitamin D. The aim of this study was to elucidate the association between serum total folate and serum vitamin D concentrations and depressive symptoms and cognitive dysfunction in older adults.

Achieving desirable clinical outcomes is difficult given the rising number of cases and mortality of oral squamous cell carcinoma. Consequently, developing an efficient drug delivery system for managing cancer progression and metastasis with relatively low toxicity has proven to be highly promising. Initially, carboxymethyl chitosan was covalently modified and partially substituted with folic acid, and subsequently encapsulated as a shell to deliver carboxylated multiwalled carbon nanotubes and their coupled baicalin to form carboxymethyl chitosan-modified folate-targeted carbon nanotubes-baicalein complexes.

Introduction: Thiamine-responsive megaloblastic anemia syndrome (TRMA) is a rare autosomal recessive disease with a homozygous or compound-heterozygous mutation in the SLC19A2 gene characterized by megaloblastic anemia, diabetes mellitus (DM), and sensorineural hearing loss with onset in childhood. Folic acid and vitamin B12 in serum are normal with dysplastic erythropoiesis in the bone marrow often mimicking myelodysplastic neoplasms (MDS) as a potential differential diagnosis. Thiamine substitution leads to normalization of anemia, without effects on hearing loss or DM.
