The plasma progesterone concentrations during pregnancy and the oestrous cycle of the quokka were measured daily after each had been initiated by the removal of pouch young. Progesterone levels ranged from 0.6 ng/ml in the early stages of the oestrous cycle to about 2.5 ng/ml at the peak of the luteal phase. There was no significant difference between pregnant and non-pregnant states before the removal of the pouch young nor in the latter half of the cycle. However, the plasma progesterone concentration on days 3--4 after removal of the pouch young was significantly greater in pregnant animals when compared with non-pregnant animals at the same stage and also when compared with the levels before removal of young. This early peak in the concentration of progesterone in peripheral plasma is discussed in relation to the development of the previously dormant blastocyst.

This study aims to investigate the degree of penetration, permanence of occlusion, and vascular changes induced by a newly modified mixture of n-butyl cyanoacrylate (Glubran 2), ethanol, and Lipidol (GEL) in the endovascular treatment of experimental aneurysms induced in swine. Bilateral pouch aneurysms were created in the wall of the internal carotid artery in eighteen pigs. The sixteen aneurysms were treated with a new mixture of GEL with different component proportions.

Background: Coccidioidomycosis is a fungal infection that poses a serious risk when transmitted through organ transplantation. We analyzed cases reported to the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network ad hoc Disease Transmission Advisory Committee from 2013 to 2022.
Methods: Donors and/or recipients who had positive Coccidioides immitis/posadasii serology, pathology, and/or culture were included in this study.
Objective: Despite being reported safety, the advantages of transanal minimally invasive proctocolectomy (TAMIP) are controversial, and comparative studies on postoperative defecation function between ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA) using laparoscopic transanal manipulation (TAMIP-IPAA) and without this technique (traditional IPAA) are lacking. This study analyzed TAMIP's impact on short-term and postoperative defecation function in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) to evaluate its safety and feasibility.
Methods: Inclusion criteria comprised patients with UC undergoing minimally invasive proctocolectomy at our hospital from May 2014 to May 2023.
