Rationale: Aortoesophageal fistula (AEF) is an exceedingly rare yet critically life-threatening condition, with mortality rates nearing 100% if not addressed promptly. AEF often develops in the context of thoracic aortic aneurysms, esophageal malignancies, or as a complication of foreign body ingestion and prior thoracic aortic surgeries. This study reports an exceptionally severe and clinically rare case of AEF associated with a pseudaneurysm induced by esophageal stenting.

Spin relaxation is modelled using the so-called relaxation superoperator Γˆˆ. Analytic forms of Γˆˆ have been derived in the literature in the simplest cases of one- or two-spin systems, with S=12 nuclei and no more than two different simultaneous relaxation mechanisms involved. Beyond that, for systems of more than two spins, with S>12 and/or multiple relaxation mechanisms at play, the derivations become notoriously complicated, which is why analytic relaxation theory has mostly been considered a dead end.

Fragmented care systems, characterized by horizontal and vertical boundaries, hinder interprofessional collaboration for individuals with complex care needs. This study explores how frontline professionals navigate these boundaries to foster collaboration within a national program promoting integrated care for individuals with 'misunderstood behaviour' in the Netherlands. Using a boundary work lens, we analysed 44 semi-structured interviews with frontline professionals from the social, care, and safety domains.

Background: Mold plasma cell-free DNA (cfDNA) PCR is a promising non-invasive diagnostic modality for early diagnosis of invasive mold disease (IMD) in immunocompromised patients. Although mold cfDNA PCR has been shown to be highly accurate, the value of invasive procedures to collect specimens for conventional fungal diagnostics following plasma cfDNA testing remains unclear.
Methods: This retrospective single-center cohort study included patients with mold plasma cfDNA PCR performed 7 days before or 2 days after invasive specimen collection.
