Stereotactic electroencephalography (SEEG) is an increasingly popular surgical modality for localizing the epileptogenic zone. Robot-guided stereotactic electrode placement has been covered in Japan by National Health Insurance since 2020. However, several surgical devices, such as the anchor bolt (a thin, hollow, metal shaft that serves as a guide screw or fixing for each electrode), have not been approved.

Mefenamic acid is a fenamate nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAI) drug, which is used for several years for pain management. However, it has been rarely reported that, mefenamic acid can induce central nervous system toxicity both in toxic doses and therapeutic usage. We report a case of a 27-year-old female who presented to the emergency department (ED) with altered mental status and vomiting.

Maxillomandibular advancement (MMA) can be effective for managing obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA); however, limited information is available on the predictor surgical variables. This study investigated whether normalization of the mandibular occlusal plane (MOP) was a determinant factor in curing OSA. Patients with moderate or severe OSA who underwent MMA were evaluated by preoperative and postoperative three-dimensional (3D) scans and polysomnograms.

Objective: To review evidence-based knowledge of pediatric obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS).
Data Sources And Extraction: We reviewed published articles regarding pediatric OSAS; extracted the clinical symptoms, syndromes, polysomnographic findings and variables, and treatment options, and reviewed the authors' recommendations.
Data Synthesis: Orthodontic and craniofacial abnormalities related to pediatric OSAS are commonly ignored, despite their impact on public health.
