Effect of cyclophosphamide on the thymus in mice.

Arch Immunol Ther Exp (Warsz)

Published: February 1983

A histologic and morphometric evaluation of weight of the thymus and content of Fc and C3 lymphocytes after a single dose of 300 mg cyclophosphamide per kg body weight in mice of the Swiss strain revealed a drop in the weight of the thymus and morphologic changes, manifested by elimination of lymphocytes from the cortical part of the thymus, followed by return to normal of the weight of the thymus and at the same time a rise in percentages of Fc and C3 receptor lymphocytes.

Infected ducks exhibited feathering disorder, growth retardation and immunosuppression, which lead to secondary infection with other pathogens easily. But till now, there has been little research on the study of DuCV due to the absence of appropriate cultural measures.

Previous studies have shown that supplementation with specific probiotics can be used to alleviate allergy symptoms. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anti-allergic effects of ZW3 (ZW3) in ovalbumin (OVA)-induced allergic mice. The mice were divided into six groups: the food allergy group, positive group ( GG), low-dose ZW3 group, middle-dose ZW3 group, high-dose ZW3 group, and the control group involving healthy mice.

Physical activity improves myocardial structure, function and resilience via complex, incompletely defined mechanisms. We explored effects of 1-2 wks swim training on cardiac and systemic phenotype in young male C57Bl/6 mice. Two wks forced swimming (90 min twice daily) resulted in cardiac hypertrophy (22% increase in heart:body weight, P<0.

Pesticides tend to cause serious reproductive defects, disturbing endocrine functions and reducing fertility, especially in females. The objective of this work was to identify the reprotoxic effects of Ampligo® 150 ZC (AP), a mixture formulation of lambda cyhalothrin and chlorantraniliprole, on the ovary of female rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) and the possible protective effect of co-treatment with thyme essential oil (TEO), extracted from (Thymus vulgaris) species, and vitamin C (vit C). Twenty female rabbits were divided into four equal groups (n=5): Control (distilled water), AP (20mg/ kg bw of the insecticide mixture every other day, by gavage for 28 days), AP+TEO (20mg/ kg bw of AP + 0.
