Introduction: Hydrocephalus is a form of communication hydrocephalus syndrome characterized by ventricular enlargement and normal intraventricular pressure. The primary clinical manifestations include gait disturbances, cognitive dysfunction, urinary incontinence, and either elevated or normal intracranial pressure. This paper presents a case of a mental disorder resulting from inadequate drainage following a ventriculoperitoneal shunt procedure for hydrocephalus.

Anterior communicating artery (ACom) aneurysm, one of the most frequent types of intracranial aneurysm rupture, usually results in a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) with intraventricular hemorrhage. We describe a case of an ACom aneurysm rupture with subarachnoid, intraparenchymal, and subdural hemorrhages (SDH) with midline shift in a 55-year-old woman. Decompressive craniectomy was performed to evacuate the SDH with subsequent microsurgical clipping of the aneurysm.

Intracranial hemorrhage continues to be a prevalent pathology in preterm newborns, especially in those with lower gestational age and birth weight. It occurs more frequently in the first days of life, and the severity of bleeding is directly related to the degree of immaturity and other conditions of the patient. Intracranial hemorrhage is associated with a significant increased risk of mortality and, in those who survive, it is associated with an increased risk of neurodevelopmental disorders and long-term disability.

A total of 315 pregnant women with twin pregnancy and their preterm infants who delivered in Peking University Third Hospital from January 2019 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Congenital internal carotid artery hypoplasia is a rare condition characterized by underdevelopment or reduced caliber of the internal carotid artery during embryonic development. This anomaly presents significant challenges in management, particularly in neurosurgical interventions for cerebrovascular events. We present a case report of a 67-year-old male who presented with subarachnoid hemorrhage and intraparenchymal hemorrhage extending as intraventricular hemorrhage due to a ruptured left true posterior communicating artery aneurysm, associated with intraoperative findings of left internal carotid artery aneurysm, accompanied by incidental findings of bilateral congenital hypoplasia of the internal carotid artery on computed tomography angiography.
