A comparative study on the Fernandez and on the Mitsuda reaction was made in 104 normal people employing whole and sonicated lepromin. Both types of lepromin can induce a good early reaction, and there was no significant difference in the results of the Fernandez reaction. The sonicated lepromin, though it contains all of the components of the original preparation, gives weaker late skin reactions. The results of the Mitsuda reaction were statistically significant.

Highly active catalysts for electrocatalytic and photocatalytic water oxidation are strongly demanded to realize artificial photosynthesis. A cobalt complex with a chlorin derivative ligand (Co(Ch)) exhibited high activity for electrocatalytic water oxidation with an overpotential of 0.45 V at pH 9.

Biosimilar(BS)drugs have recently been introduced owing to concerns with healthcare economics. In this report, we present a case in which a patient discontinued bevacizumab treatment following an allergic reaction to a BS formulation of bevacizumab but was able to safely continue treatment by switching to an original bevacizumab formulation in the late-line setting. The patient was a 66-year-old man diagnosed with unresectable colorectal cancer with synchronous multiple liver metastases.

Beneficial Bacillus subtilis (BS) symbiosis could combat root pathogenesis, but it relies on root-secreted sugars. Understanding the molecular control of sugar flux during colonization would benefit biocontrol applications. The SWEET (Sugar Will Eventually Be Exported Transporter) uniporter regulates microbe-induced sugar secretion from roots; thus, its homologs may modulate sugar distribution upon BS colonization.
