Seventy-one cases of intracordal cysts are reported. They were all diagnosed between 1970 and 1980: 53 were epidermoid and 18 retention cysts. They caused longstanding dysphonia characterized by lowered tonality, huskiness, desonorization, and vocal strain. Clinical signs were often discrete and stroboscopy revealed a lack of vibrations on the cystic cord. Surgery was followed by vocal re-education and there was a high percentage of good vocal results.

Objective: To present and validate a new simulation model for endoscopic phonomicrosurgery training as an improved teaching method.
Methods: A low-cost artificial model was assembled using 3D printing, silicone, and gelatin. The study was designed to test the model's ability to carry out training and teaching of endoscopic phonomicrosurgery.

Objectives/hypothesis: Microsurgical removal with a microflap technique via direct laryngoscopy is considered the primary treatment option for vocal cysts. However, the microflap technique is technically difficult and challenging. Therefore, we developed the "cotton ball self-retraction" technique to aid in vocal cyst surgery and reduce the cyst rupture incidence.

Introduction: The examination of the larynx with indirect visualization is one of a series of steps in otorhinolaryngological evaluation. In the past this exam was performed more commonly with mirrors and headlights, but for at least the last four decades physicians have resorted to assessing the laryngopharynx with both rigid and fiberoptic instruments. The rigid 70° laryngoscope is the most used in our practice, its main drawback being the time-consuming resterilization process needed between scope usages in different patients.

Introduction: Mucous retention cysts are a subtype of intracordal vocal cysts that may occur spontaneously or may be associated with poor vocal hygiene, and which require optimal treatment. The objective of this study was to present a new laser-assisted microsurgery technique for treating intracordal mucous retention cysts and to describe the final outcomes.
Materials And Methods: In this prospective study, we assessed the pre-operative and post-operative acoustic analysis, maximum phonation time (MPT), and voice handicap index (VHI) of four patients with a diagnosis of mucous retention cyst.

Introduction: Minor structural alterations of the vocal fold cover are frequent causes of voice abnormalities. They may be difficult to diagnose, and are expressed in different manners. Cases of intracordal cysts, sulcus vocalis, mucosal bridge, and laryngeal micro-diaphragm form the group of minor structural alterations of the vocal fold cover investigated in the present study.
