Background: In data-sparse areas such as health care, computer scientists aim to leverage as much available information as possible to increase the accuracy of their machine learning models' outputs. As a standard, categorical data, such as patients' gender, socioeconomic status, or skin color, are used to train models in fusion with other data types, such as medical images and text-based medical information. However, the effects of including categorical data features for model training in such data-scarce areas are underexamined, particularly regarding models intended to serve individuals equitably in a diverse population.

This review examines the cardiovascular risks associated with the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), both traditional NSAIDs and cyclooxygenase-2 selective inhibitors (COXIBs). It describes the history of traditional NSAIDs and the development of COXIBs to explain why their cardiovascular side effects were unnoticed for many decades. Further, the review presents the mechanism of action of NSAIDs, to elucidate the possible underlying basis for why they are associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

The eligibility criteria for social pension schemes in Africa hinder equitable and healthy aging. Men had a similar situation-a life expectancy of 62 years and a healthy life expectancy of 53 years, spending 10 years in poor health before becoming eligible for pensions at age 63.
