The discovery of novel, selective inhibitors targeting CDK2 and PIM1 kinases, which regulate cell survival, proliferation, and treatment resistance, is crucial for advancing cancer therapy. This study reports the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of three novel pyrazolo[3,4-]pyridine derivatives (), confirmed spectral analyses. These compounds were assessed for anti-cancer activity against breast, colon, liver, and cervical cancers using the MTT assay.

The abnormal tumor mechanical microenvironment due to specific cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) subset and low tumor immunogenicity caused by inefficient conversion of active chemotherapeutic agents are two key obstacles that impede patients with desmoplastic tumors from achieving stable and complete immune responses. Herein, it is demonstrated that FAP-αCAFs-induced stromal stiffness accelerated tumor progression by precluding cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Subsequently, a cascade-responsive nanoprodrug capable of re-educating FAP-αCAFs and amplifying tumor immunogenicity for potentiated cancer mechanoimmunotherapy is ingeniously designed.

Hydrogel-based solar interfacial evaporators, featuring various channels such as random, unidirectional, and radial array, are considered effective for seawater desalination owing to their porous structure, lower evaporation enthalpy, and controllable water transport capacity. However, each individual array structure has its own strengths and limitations, influencing water transportation, thermal management, and salt rejection. By combining the benefits of each array configuration into a single evaporator, the evaporation performance can be maximized.

Lattice sulfur-impregnated nanoscale zerovalent iron (S-nFe) has been recognized as a promising groundwater remediation agent. However, little information is available on its reactivity with ubiquitous extracellular antibiotic resistance genes (eARGs) in anaerobic groundwater, and how S content and speciation affect their interactions. Here, the efficient anaerobic degradation of eARGs by S-nFe (6 log within 5 min), resulting in completely inhibited transformation is showed.

In this study, the first attempt is made to implement conjugated polymer-based self-assembled monolayer (SAM), poly[3-(6-carboxyhexyl) thiophene-2,5-diyl] (P3HT-COOH), is implemented as the hole transport layer (HTL) in fabricatiing organic photovoltaics (OPVs). The scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) results show that those P3HT-COOH molecules with periodic carboxylic acid anchoring groups pack periodically on the indium tin oxide (ITO) surface and form a monolayer. Further, this monolayer is smooth and dense with a polar feature that minimizes defects, forms an excellent interface with the photoactive layer, and tunes the work function of ITO beneficial for hole extraction.
